报告摘要:Multilayer networks describe interacting complex systems formed by different interacting networks. Multilayer networks are ubiquitous and include social networks, financial markets, multimodal transportation systems, infrastructures, the brain and the cell. Multilayer networks cannot be reduced to a large single network. In this talk I will present first recent results showing how we can extract from multilayer networks more relevant information than from its single layer taken in isolation. Secondly I will provide evidence that dynamical processes on multilayer networks can display very novel properties that reflect the rich interplay between structure and multiplexity.(多层网络描述了由不同的交互网络组成的相互作用的复杂系统。多层网络无处不在,包括社交网络、金融市场、多式联运系统、基础设施、大脑和细胞。多层网络不能简化为一个大的单一网络。在这次演讲中,我将首先展示我们如何从多层网络中提取更多相关信息,而不是从孤立的单层中提取。其次,我将提供证据,证明多层网络上的动态过程可以显示非常新颖的性质,反映出结构与多重复杂性之间丰富的相互作用。)
报告人简介:Ginestra Bianconi is Director of the MSc in Network Science at the School of Mathematical Sciences of Queen Mary University of London. Currently she is Editor of PloSOne, and Scientific Reports, and she is Associate Editor of Chaos, Solitons and Fractals.Her research activity on Statistical Mechanics and Network Science includes Network Theory and its interdisciplinary applications. She has formulated the Bianconi-Barabasi model that displays the Bose-Einstein condensation in complex networks. She has worked in network entropy and network ensembles and on dynamical processes on networks.
